    The ρ±ρ0\rho^{\pm}-\rho^0 Mass Splitting Problem

It is discussed the problem of the ρ±ρ0\rho^\pm-\rho^0 mass splitting. It is suggested to use the ϕρπ3π\phi\to\rho\pi\to 3\pi decay to measure the ρ±ρ0\rho^{\pm}-\rho^0 mass splitting.Comment: 7 pages, revtex, a few typos fixed, to be published in Pis'ma v ZHETF, V. 69, No 1, pp. 8-11, 10 January 199

Final-state interaction phase difference in J/ψρηJ/\psi\to\rho\eta and ωη\omega\eta decays

It is shown that the study of the ωρ0\omega-\rho^0 interference pattern in the J/ψ(ρ0+ω)ηπ+πηJ/\psi\to (\rho^0+\omega)\eta\to\pi^+\pi^-\eta decay provides the evidence for the large (nearly 9090^\circ) relative phase between the one-photon and the three-gluon decay amplitudes.Comment: 5 pages, revtex, \tightenlines, a version published in Phys. Proposed Search for a00(980)f0(980)a^0_0(980)-f_0(980) Mixing in Polarization Phenomena

The K+K^+ and K0K^0 meson mass difference induces the mixing of the a00(980)a^0_0(980) and f0(980)f_0(980) resonances, the amplitude of which, between the K+KK^+K^- and K0Kˉ0K^0\bar K^0 thresholds, is large in magnitude, of the order of mKmK02mK+2αmK2 m_{K}\sqrt{m^2_{K^0}-m^2_{K^+}}\approx\sqrt\alpha m^2_K, and possesses the phase sharply varying by about 90^\circ. We suggest performing the polarized target experiments on the reaction πpηπ0n\pi^-p\to\eta\pi^0n at high energy in which the fact of the existence of a00(980)f0(980)a^0_0(980)-f_0(980) mixing can be unambiguously and very easily established through the presence of a strong jump in the azimuthal asymmetry of the ηπ0\eta\pi^0 SS wave production cross section near the KKˉK\bar K thresholds. The presented estimates of the polarization effect to be expected in experiment are to a great extent model independent.Comment: RevTeX, 9 pages, 1 figure. Role of a_1(1260) resonance in multipion decays of light vector mesons

The contribution of the a_1(1260) meson to the amplitudes of the decays rho(770) to 4 pi, omega(782) to 5 pi, and phi(1020) to 5 pi is analyzed in the chiral model of pseudoscalar, vector, and axial vector mesons based on the generalized hidden local symmetry added with the anomalous terms. The analysis shows that inclusion of a_1 meson in the intermediate states results in enhancement of the branching ratios of the above decays by the factor ranging from 1.3 to 1.9 depending on the mass of a_1 meson ranging from 1.23 GeV to m_{a_1}=m_rho sqrt{2}=1.09 GeV, the greater factor standing in case of lower mass of the a_1.Comment: 14 pages, 5 figure

Light Scalar Mesons as Manifestation of Spontaneously Broken Chiral Symmetry

Attention is paid to the production mechanisms of light scalars that reveal their nature. We reveal the chiral shielding of the \sigma(600) meson. We show that the kaon loop mechanism of the \phi radiative decays, ratified by experiment, points to the four-quark nature of light scalars. We show also that the light scalars are produced in the two photon collisions via four-quark transitions in contrast to the classic P wave tensor q\bar q mesons that are produced via two-quark transitions γγqqˉ\gamma\gamma\to q\bar q. The history of spontaneous breaking of symmetry in quantum physics is discussed in Appendix.Comment: Talk at The International Bogolyubov Conference "Problems of Theoretical and Mathematical Physics" devoted to the 100th anniversary of N.N.Bogolyubov's birth that was held from August 21 to August 22,2009 in Moscow at the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and from August 23 to August 27, 2009 in Dubna at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR

ππ\pi\pi scattering S wave from the data on the reaction πpπ0π0n\pi^-p\to\pi^0\pi^0n

The results of the recent experiments on the reaction πpπ0π0n\pi^-p\to\pi^0\pi^0n performed at KEK, BNL, IHEP, and CERN are analyzed in detail. For the I=0 ππ\pi\pi S wave phase shift δ00\delta^0_0 and inelasticity η00\eta^0_0 a new set of data is obtained. Difficulties emerging when using the physical solutions for the π0π0\pi^0\pi^0 S and D wave amplitudes extracted with the partial wave analyses are discussed. Attention is drawn to the fact that, for the π0π0\pi^0\pi^0 invariant mass, m, above 1 GeV, the other solutions, in principle, are found to be more preferred. For clarifying the situation and further studying the f0(980)f_0(980) resonance thorough experimental investigations of the reaction πpπ0π0n\pi^-p\to\pi^0\pi^0n in the m region near the KKˉK\bar K threshold are required.Comment: 17 pages, 5 figure

Are the reactions γγVV\gamma\gamma\to VV' a challenge for the factorized Pomeron at high energies?

We would like to point to the strong violation of the putative factorized Pomeron exchange model in the reactions γγVV\gamma\gamma\to VV' in the high-energy region where this model works fairly well in all other cases.Comment: 4 pages, LaTex, 1 fig. in postscript, minor typos corrected, to be published in Phys. Isoscalar resonances with J^{PC}=1^{--} in e^+e^-annihilation

The analysis of the vector isoscalar excitations in the energy range between 1 and 2 GeV of the e+ee^+e^- annihilation is presented for the final states π+ππ0\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0, ωπ+π\omega\pi^+\pi^-, K+KK^+K^-, KS0K±πK^0_SK^\pm\pi^\mp and K0Kπ++c.cK^{\ast0}K^-\pi^++ c.c. The effects of both the resonance mixing and the successive opening of multiparticle channels, with the energy dependent partial widths, are taken into account. The work extends our previous analysis hep-ph/9609216 of the vector isovector excitations and is aimed to compare the existing data with the predictions of the qqˉq\bar q model. It is shown that this hypothesis does not contradict the data.Comment: 16 pages, revtex, 6 ps figures. Clarifying remarks, a table, and references are added. Accepted in Phys. Rev.

Study of the process e+eπ+ππ0e^+e^- \to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 in the energy region s\sqrt[]{s} below 0.98 GeV

The cross section of the process e+eπ+ππ0e^+e^-\to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 was measured in the Spherical Neutral Detector (SND) experiment at the VEPP-2M collider in the energy region s\sqrt[]{s} below 980 MeV. This measurement was based on about 1.2×1061.2 \times 10^6 selected events. The obtained cross section was analyzed together with the SND and DM2 data in the energy region s\sqrt[]{s} up to 2 GeV. The ω\omega-meson parameters: mω=782.79±0.08±0.09m_\omega=782.79\pm 0.08\pm 0.09 MeV, Γω=8.68±0.04±0.15\Gamma_\omega=8.68\pm 0.04\pm 0.15 MeV and σ(ω3π)=1615±9±57\sigma(\omega\to 3\pi)=1615\pm 9\pm 57 nb were obtained. It was found that the experimental data cannot be described by a sum of only ω\omega, ϕ\phi, ω\omega^\prime and ω\omega^{\prime\prime} resonances contributions. This can be interpreted as a manifestation of ρ3π\rho\to 3\pi decay, suppressed by GG-parity, with relative probability B(ρ3π)=(1.01±0.360.54±0.034)×104B(\rho\to 3\pi) = (1.01\pm^{0.54}_{0.36}\pm 0.034) \times 10^{-4}.Comment: 41 pages REVTEX and 34 figure
